"Second Stage of Cruelty"
This is an original 1883 photolithograph of "Second Stage of Cruelty", the second in a series of four paintings by William Hogarth (1697-1764) entitled "The Four Stages of Cruelty" that depicted the character of Tom Nero working as the coachman of a hackney carriage, beating his horse outside the Thavies Inn Gate in London, England during the Georgian Era. Other heinous acts of animal cruelty are also depicted in the background.

This 128+ year old Item is rated Very Fine ++. Moderate aging in margins. Light surface rub - bottom margin. Small tear - right margin.
