This is an original 1897 black and white wood engraving of Miss Lavinia Jones waking up from her treeside siesta to find a herd of cattle surrounding her. The Brounjones series was one of the only Keene ever had published in Punch, which effectively illustrated his method of crafting a story. The original piece was featured in the British magazine in 1866.
