This collection includes various artistic works of historic castles and chateaus of Old Navarre, as well as those in the Basque provinces of Spain. These prints also contain various cultural scenes that depict the heritage and lifestyle of the natives, which includes that of mountaineers, theatre, outdoor recreational games, hermits, the coat of arms of Henry IV of France and Navarre, musicians, religious pilgrimages, cobblers, shepherds and more.

Blanche McManus Mansfield

Blanche McManus Mansfield (1870-1929) was an internationally known artist and writer native to East Feliciana, Louisiana. During the early 1900s, Mansfield spent time traveling Europe and Africa with her husband Francis Miltoun (Milburg Francisco Mansfield), where the two created an illustrated travelog of their time in the regions. Mansfield is most recognized for her paintings, printmaking, illustrations and graphic art design mediums. Her works primarily centered on animals, figures and genre subjects. However, Mansfield was also well known for her series of illustrations for childrenÕs books. MansfieldÕs art had been exhibited at the 1904 Louisiana Purchase Exposition (St. Louis WorldÕs Fair).
