Frank Swift Chase

Frank Swift Chase (1886-1958) was a famous American painter native to St. Louis, Missouri, prior to relocating to Woodstock, New York, where he received his formal art education at the Art Students League of New York. ChaseÕs works primarily centered on seascapes, winterscapes, landscapes and marine and nautical subjects. He was also well known for his distinct impressionism style. ChaseÕs art has been exhibited at the Carnegie Institute, the Art Institute of Chicago, the Corcoran Gallery of Washington, D. C., the National Academy of Design, the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts, the Minneapolis Institute of Arts, the Eastman School of Music and more. Chase was affiliated with the Nantucket Art Association, the Connecticut Academy of Fine Arts, the Woodstock Art Association (New York), the Allied Artists Association, the Springfield Artists Association (Illinois) and the Salmagundi Club. Later, he served as an instructor at the Art Students League of New York.
