This is an original 1883 photolithograph of "The Industrious 'Prentice a Favourite, and entrusted by his Master", the fourth in a series of twelve paintings by William Hogarth (1697-1764) entitled "Industry and Idleness" that portrayed Francis Goodchild being promoted by his master at the textile factory as a reward for his hard work.
