Italy in the 1920's Via Photogravure

An exceptional collection of historic photogravures of the landscape, historical sites, and notable art and architecture of Rome, Italy and its environs or, as Edgar Allan Poe wrote "The grandeur that was Rome."

All of these stunning images were captured via some of the most impressive large-format cameras of the early 20th Century, by the hand of some of the worlds premier photographers. The images were then produced via commercial photogravure for a much finer tonal quality than that of halftone images produced in that era.
