This is an original 1807 black and white copper line engraving of the floor plan and front elevations of a domed monument submitted as part of a competition to honor the Òthe glory of the great armyÓ of Napoleon. The design chosen was a neoclassical temple -- the present-day Église de la Madeleine. Engraved by Charles-Pierre-Joseph Normand (1765-1840). Please see all images.
