This is a rare, original 1888 two-page color chromolithograph set (two single-sided pages) which depicts some of the styles and fashions worn by women in 17th century Germany, the Duchy of Brabant, England and France. The Crowned V plate is filled primarily with fashionable seasonal attire for the avant-garde English lady, while the Flower plate focuses on several more uniform styles, including the bizarre pompom crests which adorn the heads of rich woman from northern Germany and the Netherlands.
