This is an original 1892 photogravure of Holy Trinity Church at Stratford-upon-Avon in Warwickshire, England. Note the impression of the printing plate.
Period Paper has obtained a lovely collection of lithographs and first-impression photogravures of the landscape and architecture of late-19th century Warwickshire-- the rural county in the West Midlands region of England famed as the birthplace of William Shakespeare. The lithographs in this collection are tipped-in on a heavy mounting stock. The photogravures are first impression and the impression of the printing plate is visible. (The first impression printing of a photogravure produces the clearest and most detailed image and is highly sought after by collectors.)
