This is an original 1893 monochrome wood engraving entitled Spaziergang des kleinen Bey (Walking the Little Bey), by F. M. Bredt. The little Bey, or chieftain, holds the hand of his caretaker as he wanders through the dry landscape, protected from a distance by a guard.
