This is an original 1927 tipped-in Blackmore Tintex color print of an 1818 colored aquatint of "Epsom Races" originally drawn and engraved by James Pollard.

This sporting collection of tipped-in color prints employed a Blackmore Tintex Printing technique, which, at the time, served as a precursor to offset lithography. The method was revolutionary in the color printing industry and produced quality art prints that closely resembled the time and labor-intensive technique of hand colored stone lithographs.
