1928 Print Volta River Chieftain Ceremonial Barges - ORIGINAL HISTORIC TRV1

This is an original 1928 halftone print of the West African chieftain on a ceremonial barge followed by a group of dugout canoes on the Volta River in Western Africa that drains into the Gulf of Guinea. This grotesque flotilla arrived with its regal passenger at a small village on the Volta River.
