This is an original 1938 halftone print of a Japanese screen titled, "Landscape," which was created in the late 17th century or early 18th century. Shown is a mountainous terrain and a small village.

Period Paper is pleased to present a collection of halftone prints featuring Japanese art screens and sliding panels, or fusuma. The original pieces were displayed at the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston, Massachusetts, during the winter of 1935-1936, in order to acquaint the public with Japanese artwork. The exhibition offered pieces from the Ashikaga, Momoyama, Tokugawa and Meiji periods, and featured numerous artists from each time frame. It is an interesting collection and depicts the transformation of Japanese artwork from the 15th to the 20th century.
