Thornton Oakley (1881-1953) was an American illustrator known for his work with "Century," "Harper's Monthly," and "National Geographic." Oakley collaborated with his wife, Amy, while creating a series of travel books. Amy wrote the text, and Thornton illustrated. Oakley studied at the University of Pennsylvania, and received degrees in architecture.
