This is an original November 30, 1918 color cover for The Independent, with which is incorporated Harper's Weekly. This cover has a picture of General John Joseph "Black Jack" Pershing. He led the American Expeditionary Forces in World War I. In his lifetime he was the only person to be promoted to the highest rank ever held in the United States Army, General of the Armies.

This 93+ year old Item is rated Very Fine +. Light aging throughout. Light creasing. No natural defects. Some light surface rub. No tears. No water damage. Please note there is a library stamp and some pencil marks near the top of this cover.
