This is an original 1956 black and white relief line-block map of June 11th during World War II. This date is important because it is the day president Franklin Roosevelt agreed to send U.S. troops to man a British garrison in Iceland. The move freed a British division to be reassigned to a crucial war zone without exposing U.S. troops to a combat situation.
