This is an original 1896 black and white halftone print of the plain clothed volunteer forces of the Prussian army during the War of the Sixth Coalition. Due to lack of funding for even the regular army of Prussia, volunteer corps were forced to pay for their own equipment, and most dressed in their civilian clothing.
