This is a rare original 1906 black and white print ad for the Pennsylvania Military College in Chester, Pennsylvania, and under Col. Charles E. Hyatt presidency. The college was established in 1892, and in 1966, the school was renamed PMC as it adopted a nonmilitary, co-educational element. In 1972, the college was renamed the Widener College and the Corps of Cadets disbanded, though the Army ROTC program remained. In 1979, the name was finally changed to Widener University. Notable alumni include publisher of the
Philadelphia Inquirer and
Philadelphia Daily News Brian Tierney, NFL lineman Jack Klotz, former NHL coach and general manager Pat Quinn, New York Jets all-pro center Joe Fields and many more.
