This is an original 1922 sepia rotogravure of a sculpture at the city of Metz, France (Republique Française) depicting Lafayette riding on his horse. Lafayette was a French military officer who served as a general in the American Revolutionary War and as a leader in the French Revolution. The sculpture was created by American artist, Paul Bartlett, unveiled in the city on August 21, 1920, and received by Marshal Foch.
