This is an original 1922 sepia rotogravure of the Plaza de la Constitucion in Mexico City. Also shown is a peasant cottage in Amatlan, the San Francisco Cathedral in Cholula, and a portrait of Alvaro Obregon. The San Francisco Cathedral is located on top of the Great Pyramid of Cholula, also known as Tlachihualtepetl. During excavations of the pyramid, over 400 human remains were uncovered, some of which were used as human sacrifices to the rain goddess. Obregon served as the president of Mexico from 1920 to 1924.
