1922 Rotogravure Place de Hotel de Ville Paris General Gallieni Military Funeral

This is an original 1922 sepia rotogravure of the funeral of General Gallieni in Paris at the Place de L'Hotel de Ville. The caption writes, "General Gallieni had won the title of the 'Savior of Paris' because of the almost superhuman efforts that he had made in rushing troops in motor cars from the capital to the assistance of Marshal Joffre in the first Battle of the Marne, the reinforcements finally turning the tide of battle."
