This is an original 1922 sepia rotogravure of the mob attacks on the Reichstag Building in Berlin, Germany (Deutschland) on January 13, 1920. The caption writes, "[...] forty-two persons were killed and more than a hundred wounded when a mob of 50,000 people tried to storm the session of the Assembly in a protest against a bill regulating labor unions. The police were compelled to throw bombs and turn machine guns on the rioters and a general uprising was narrowly averted. It was charged that some of the most radical of the Socialist members themselves encouraged the mob to take possession of the building."
