This is an original 1922 sepia rotogravure of a French trooper and his wife sharing an unexpected kiss. The caption to this touching image writes, "A patrol of French cavalry has halted in a village, which happened to be the native town of one of the troopers. His wife, overjoyed at the unexpected opportunity of seeing her husband, has accompanied him to the edge of the woods and is giving and receiving what may be the last kiss."
