This is an original 1924 halftone print of individuals participating in a Native American "potato race" during the annual Native American ceremony at Gallup, New Mexico. The objective was to be the first to transport a certain number of potatoes, one at a time, and place time in the pail. Photography by Edwin L. Wisherd.
