This is an original 1927 halftone print of the front of the cathedral during Mr. Root's visit to Buenos Aires. We believe Mr. Root to be Elihu Root, an American lawyer and statesman and the 1912 recipient of the Nobel Peach Prize. He held several high-level government positions and visited Buenos Aires as Secretary of State in 1906.
