This is an original 1943 monochrome rotogravure of the original model of the Statue of Liberty, created by Frederic Bartholdi in 1875. The model was approved by the Franco-American Union and was put on display at the Bartholdi Museum in Colmar, France (Republique Française). Seen in the inset is Bartholdi's mother, Charlotte Beysser, who was the supposed model for the sculpture. The original painting of Charlotte was also placed in the Bartholdi Museum.
