This is an original 1907 sepia photogravure of a piece by Venetian Renaissance artist Vittore Carpaccio (c. 1465-1525), who is best known for his conservative, large-scale detachable wall-paintings, which were not as humanistic in nature as the work of his other Italian contemporaries. This painting portrays the departure of the ambassadors of the King of England, part of his Legend of Saint Ursula.
