This is an original 1910 halftone print of Diaz' city palace, Palace of the Marquis del Apartado, at the center of Mexico City near Zocalo. Porfirio Diaz was a Mexican-American war volunteer, and a hero during the French intervention. However, the general is usually considered as a dictator. He fell from power during the Mexican Revolution. Featured is an image of the palace during a celebration of Mexico's Independence Day.
