This is an original 1922 sepia rotogravure of the coffin of Great Britain's 'unknown soldier.' The caption writes, "Coffin of the British 'unknown soldier' photographed on the exact spot where it was destined to lie in Westminster Abbey, Great Britain's national shrine, prior to being taken to France, there to receive the remains of the one who should be chosen to represent the country's glorious dead." The bottom image shows General Pershing giving an address at the location, before placing the Congressional Medal of Honor on top of the coffin as tribute.
