This is an original 1939 halftone print of the National Aniline & Chemical Company plant in Buffalo, New York. The company was a part of Allied Chemical & Dye. Aniline is used to prepare methylene diphenyl diisocyanate, which creates polyurethane. Aniline also facilitates the creation of rubber, herbicides, and dyes and pigments.
