This is an original 1870 lithograph that shows some examples of German sculptures of the Berlin School including: Chr. Rausch' s statue, and Natural Delights--Relief by Fr. Drake; Lessing's Statue, and Mary with the Dead Christ by E. Rietschel; Statue of Paris by A. Wredow; The Spinner by R. Schadow; The Water Carrier by L. Wichmann; Iphigenia by G. Heidel; The Amazon by A. Kiss; The Fight with the Lion by Alb. Wolff; and The Boy with the Swan by A. Kalide.

This lithograph is from a collection detailing the history and beauty of architecture from prehistoric times through the 1800s. Due to the heavy stock of the paper, the original plate emboss can still be viewed in the margins of most lithographsÑa rare and highly desirable feature of this art. Our digital capture process enhances the visibility and tone of the foxing; however, in the original pieces the foxing, especially along the edges, is less pronounced. Virtually all foxing is restricted to the outermost margin and would be eliminated when framed.
