This is an original 1873 black and white in-text wood engraving of a portrait of British sailors in the Royal Navy Artillery Volunteers (RNAV) aboard the 58-gun frigate, HMS President, under inspection by Admiral Sir John Walter Tarelton (1811-1880), an officer in the Royal Navy during the Victorian era.

This 140+ year old Item is rated Very Fine ++. Moderate aging throughout. Light creasing. There is light bleedthrough on this piece from the verso. Some light surface rub. Please note: There is printing on the verso.
