This is an original 1875 black and white woodcut which depicts the Château of Monceaux, located in Seine-et-Marne, France. Although only a few structures remain, the history surroundig the castle is as impressive as it once was. It was built in the early 16th century, and went through the hands of such figures as Jean Laguette, Catherine de Medicis, Gabrielle d'Estrées, and Marie de Medicis before its partial demolition in 1799.

This 136+ year old Item is rated Near Mint / Very Fine. Light aging throughout. Light wrinkling. There is acid staining in this image. No surface rub.No tears. No water damage. Please note that there is a blind emboss mark in the upper right corner.
