This is an original 1906 black and white intaglio print of French journalist and politician, Camille Desmoulins. In 1789, Desmoulins published a pamphlet he wrote entitled La France Libre, that advocated the formation of a French Republic government and criticized monarchy and the Roman Catholic church. He was later tried and guillotined on April 5, 1794.
