1922 Rotogravure World War I French Troops Soldiers Trench Warfare Historic

This is an original 1922 sepia rotogravure of French troops attacking Germans from their trench, and of a peaceful stream where the military horses are drinking and cooling off. The caption for the top image writes, "French troops going over the top in an attack on the German lines. A heavy barrage had been laid down by the French artillery and under its cover the troops are beginning their charge."
