This is an original 1944 black and white halftone print of Landing Signal Officer Shailer Cummings aiding a Curtiss CB2C Helldiver aircraft of the 17th Carrier Bombing Squadron land safely on their aircraft carrier. Even in daylight and with the assistance of the aircraft carrier crews, landing on flight decks was dangerous and difficult.

Due to this image's release date, the name of the aircraft carrier shown is not given.
