1945 Print German Clerk Prisoner War Security United States World War II CON1

This is an original 1945 halftone print of German workers helping process German prisoners of war under United States supervision. The caption writes, "... German clerical help was used extensively to process prisoners in the PW cages and also to complete discharge records for the thousands of farmers, miners, transport workers, lumber men and postal employees who were released early in May after security screening."

"Conad History" (Continental Advance) was created to preserve the history of the United States Army supply forces, and to provide a basis for future studies by the United States War Department. The book covered the continental advance, communications zones, the European theater of operations, and the United States Army during 1944 and 1945. The Conad staff began in Africa and traveled to central Europe where they finished.
