This is an original 1852 black and white in-text wood engraving of the historic American House hotel (est. 1835), that was located at 56 Hanover Street in the city of Boston, Massachusetts, USA. Famous guests of the hotel include John Brown and Ralph Waldo Emerson. The hotel was closed in 1935 and the building was demolished and replaced by a parking lot.
