This is an original 1865 black and white in-text wood engraving of a funeral in Córdoba, Argentina. As was customary, the deceased case was lain to rest holding a crucifix with a crown placed upon its head and paper wings placed on its shoulders. A couple have begun to dance, mourning the deceased but celebrating their life, during the wake.
