This is an original 1868 color lithograph map of the basin of the Nile river to illustrate Sir. Samuel White Baker's routes and discoveries. Baker was a British explorer, officer, naturalist, big game hunter, engineer, writer and abolitionist. He is mostly remembered as the discoverer of Lake Albert, as an explorer of the Nile and interior of central Africa.

This 143+ year old Item is rated Fine. Light aging throughout. No creases. Large tear - bottom right corner. Moderate water stain - bottom right corner. This map has punch holes on the right side from the binding.
