This is an original 1873 black and white in-text wood engraving of the 12-inch (305mm) 25-ton muzzle-loading rifle artillery gun that was aboard the ironclad ram warship, HMS Hotspur, of the British Royal Navy (RN) and the effect that two rounds of 600-pound shot had upon the side of the breastwork monitor HMS Glatton, of the British Royal Navy that took place during live firing trials.
