This is an original 1879 two-page (1 page, double-sided) print article about the Ingersoll Rock Drill, manufactured by Ingersoll Rock Drill Company, Park Place, New York. Fig 1. represents the drill supported on a tripod and working downward in the open air by steam; Fig. 2 shows the same drill, driven by compressed air, working forward in a horizontal tunnel, and supported on a railroad truck.
