This is an original 1881 two-page print article about the Exhibition Building of the Massachusetts Charitable Mechanic Association. This institution was one of the oldest mechanic's associations in the United States, and one of the first to hold exhibitions of manufactures and the arts, having held its first exhibition of this kind in 1837, being anticipated in this undertaking by only a single institution- the pioneer in establishing the custom of holding exhibitions in this country- the Franklin Institute of Pennsylvania. This article also illustrates a floor plan of the Building. Please see both images.
