This is an original 1882 hand-colored lithograph by English entomologist William Forsell Kirby (1844-1912), of several species of moths from the Sphingidae family, including; the Pine Hawk-moth, Sphinx pinastri, (Fig. 1, a-b), the Convolvulus Hawk-moth, Agrius convolvuli, (Fig. 2, a-b), and the Privet Hawk Moth, Sphinx ligustri, (Fig. 3, a-c).
