1883 Japanese Tapestry Fabric Design Chromolithograph - ORIGINAL OJ1

This is an original 1883 chromolithograph of a Japanese fabric design of red, green and gold. Small birds and flowers are arranged in a geometrical pattern. The design is printed throughout with gold ink which, unfortunately, does not show up well in our digital capture, appearing dull brown.

Period Paper has obtained an exquisite collection of Japanese art prints and art plates (including color prints; halftone prints; heliogravures; and chromolithographs). Printed in 1883-1884 these prints and plates come from No. 231 of a limited edition printing of 500. This is truly a rare collection for the connoisseur of Japanese art.
