This is an original 1887 black and white wood engraving titled, "Amy Robsart," featuring an image of Robsart, the wife of Lord Robert Dudley, a favourite of Elizabeth I. Her death caused various rumors, as the incident seemed rather suspicious. Robsart had fallen and sustained two head injuries, and broken her neck.
