This is a rare original 1888 color chromolithograph which depicts a selection of historical clothing that could be seen in Poland during the 19th century. Because of its location in central Europe, it is of no surprise that travelers lent their distinctive styles to the overall trends appearing on the streets of the time. For instance, the long hair worn by the young lady in the lower corner was most likely a sign that she was unmarried, and was common throughout parts of Germany, Switzerland, and Ukraine.
