This is a rare original 1888 color chromolithograph which depicts, in fine detail, a variety of ornately carved furniture from Europe, dating back to the 16th and 17th centuries. The styles emanating from the Italian Renaissance not only influenced the artists and the stone carvers, but also the carpenters and the furniture makers, subtly encouraging them to explore new styles and push the boundaries of their traditional workmanship.
