This is an original 1889 half-page print article "Canet Barbette Turret for a Twelve-and-a-half-inch Marine Gun", with an illustration of the turret. This halftone image shows the interior arrangement of a turret designed for supporting and maneuvering a heavy gun for marine service. It was designed and built by the French Societe des Forges et Chantiers, for the armament of several coast defense vessels just built for the Japanese Government.

This 122+ year old Item is rated Very Fine ++. Moderate aging throughout. No creases. No natural defects. No surface rub. No tears. No water damage. Please note that there is bleed through due to the printing on the reverse. There are yellow stains on the left side of this print.
