This is an original 1890 black and white steel engraving of the Towers of Europe, alternately known as the Fortress of Europe, in Arabic it is known as Romola-Hissar (Fort). This imposing structure stands on the shores of the Bosphorus Strait and was said to eternalize the fate and fall of Constantinople.
